The video below illustrates how students collaborated to showcase their creativity and what they have learned throughout the year. When students can engage in opportunities that allow them to showcase their talent, I've found that it helps to support student retention. Within our curriculum, we also teach the professional use of social media by allowing students to interact with the program Facebook page which further instill appropriate marketing strategies which includes the art of networking and brand development. By the time students have approached their graduate level in school, they have made tremendous strides in becoming independent and overall proficiently skilled with the essential tools to become successful entrepreneurs. The modules and content that covered Partnering, Placed- Based Learning and Mere Vehicles demonstrated what I had been executing prior to completing ED510 but now with major improvements. As I reflected back to various photographs, I came to realize that students were positively impacted by the lessons covered regarding the importance of taking precautions when promoting yourself using social media platforms. These students and alumni demonstrate that brand development is crucial to your business image during this digital time of being an entrepreneurship and preparing them for their today's success as well as tomorrow's.
The file below is from a workshop the students developed. When educators allow students to conceptualize ways to network, build their brand and contribute to their academic success you are actually preparing them before entering the workforce. It is important to engage, equip and empower students during the learning process.
